SmartTest AI ("we", "our", or "the App") is an AI-powered exam preparation application for CBSE and Tamil Nadu State Board students. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information.

1. Information We Collect

Account Information: When you use the App, we create an anonymous account identifier to track your progress. We do not require your name, email, or phone number to use the App.

Usage Data: We collect information about how you use the App, including questions attempted, scores, and study progress. This helps us improve the learning experience.

Voice Input: If you choose to use the voice input feature for answering questions, the audio is processed by your device's speech recognition service (Google Speech Services or Apple Speech) to convert speech to text. We do not store or transmit audio recordings.

Purchase Information: If you subscribe to SmartTest AI Premium, payment processing is handled entirely by Google Play Store or Apple App Store. We do not collect or store your payment card details.

2. How We Use Your Information

• To provide and improve the exam preparation service
• To evaluate your answers using AI (Anthropic Claude API)
• To track your study progress and performance
• To manage your subscription status
• To prevent abuse and enforce usage limits

3. AI Answer Evaluation

When you submit an answer for AI verification, your answer text and the related question are sent to our secure server, which uses the Anthropic Claude API to evaluate your response. The evaluation results are cached to improve performance. No personally identifiable information is included in the AI evaluation request.

4. Data Storage & Security

Your data is stored securely using Google Firebase services with industry-standard encryption. We implement appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your information against unauthorized access, alteration, or destruction.

5. Third-Party Services

The App uses the following third-party services, each with their own privacy policies:

• Google Firebase — Authentication, data storage, and cloud functions
• Anthropic Claude API — AI-powered answer evaluation
• RevenueCat — Subscription management
• Google Play / Apple App Store — Payment processing
• Google Speech Services / Apple Speech — Voice-to-text conversion (on-device)

6. Children's Privacy

SmartTest AI is designed for students in 10th and 12th standard (typically ages 14-18). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided personal information, please contact us so we can take appropriate action.

7. Data Retention

We retain your usage data and progress for as long as your account is active. Cached AI evaluation results are automatically deleted after 30 days. If you wish to delete your data, please contact us at the email below.

8. Your Rights

You have the right to:

• Access the personal data we hold about you
• Request deletion of your data
• Opt out of data collection by uninstalling the App
• Contact us with any privacy concerns

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any significant changes by posting the new policy in the App. Your continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
